How We Create Our Content
Editorial & AI transparency policy
Who publishes this content
Tondio is an independent lawn care tracking app built and operated by a small team of lawn care enthusiasts. Our blog publishes practical guides on mowing, fertilization, seasonal care, and general lawn maintenance. All content is published under the Tondio brand.
How our articles are created
Our articles are created using AI language models (Claude by Anthropic), guided by our editorial team. Every article goes through the following process:
- Topic selection — Topics are chosen based on real lawn care search queries, so we cover questions people are actually asking. We maintain a de-duplicated topic list to avoid repeating similar ground.
- AI-generated draft — Our editorial guidelines instruct the AI to produce substantive, specific content: real measurements, NPK ratios, seasonal timing windows, and practical action plans. Generic filler is actively discouraged.
- Editorial review — The Tondio team manages and refines the editorial guidelines, reviews the publishing process, and updates articles when best practices change.
- Images — All photographs are sourced from Pexels under their free license, with photographer credit on every image.
We believe in being upfront: these articles are AI-generated content. We use AI because it allows us to publish thorough, research-backed guides frequently, at a quality level that would otherwise require a large editorial team.
Sourcing and accuracy
Our editorial guidelines require articles to include specific, verifiable information — temperatures, NPK ratios, timing windows — rather than vague generalities. For lawn-chemical guidance (herbicides, fertilizers, pesticides), we treat this as advice requiring extra care: readers should always follow product label instructions and consult local extension services for region-specific guidance.
We do not fabricate sources or citations. If an article references a practice or recommendation, it reflects established horticultural guidance or common industry knowledge.
Reporting inaccuracies
